In a real emergency, this is not the thing to use. Call 911 for anything life-threatening. If you are a Block Captain and the village is activated, the radio net is the channel that matters. This page is for learning and looking things up beforehand.
Every answer also has its own Read aloud button. The clearer voice is made by a narration service, which receives the answer text to read — never your question or anything about you. If it is unavailable, your own device's voice reads it instead.
Or start with one of these:
The assistant isn't running on this server at the moment. Everything else on the site works as usual, and the Chair is always reachable at PLEC.Chair@gmail.com.
It reads the committee's training curriculum and the documents on the Resources page, and answers from those. If something isn't in that material, it will say so rather than guess — local details like radio channels and evacuation routes are exactly the kind of thing a general-purpose chatbot gets confidently wrong.
When one of the committee's own videos covers your question — the short Block Captain training videos included — it offers it under the answer. Press Watch the video to play it and Close the video to put it away.
It has no roster and cannot tell you who your Block Captain is — the lookup on the home page does that, one address at a time. It can't pass a message to anyone either. For a person, email PLEC.Chair@gmail.com.
Questions aren't stored. We keep a count of how many are asked so we can see whether it's useful and what it costs — not what anyone asked.
